DECATS - St. Rita Catholic School - 2009
Jodi Sheffield,
I just want to thank you (THANK YOU!!!!) and your staff for the wonderful opportunities that DECATS presents for students like my son. If “regular school” was as fun as DECATS, he would never come home, I am sure of it. Please share that with your teachers and your sponsors. I do not doubt that his positive experience at DECATS has helped with his regular school year attitude this year. I hope that Sr. DECATS has the computer game programming course for advancing students; my son spends hours still teaching himself how to program his own games.
God Bless,
A Grateful Mom from St. Joseph School

DECATS - Holy Spirit Episcopal School - 2009
To Whom it May Concern,
I have to compliment your foundation for funding such an outstanding program. I have taught two classes for the last 5 years at Holy Spirit in Houston. It is not only a wonderful experience for students, but for teachers too. When Virginia Goble first commented about no homework or worksheets I knew the program was for me. Each year I teach a hands on math class which never remains the same, and I experiment with one other class. This year the other class was Photostory, but it has been algebraic thinking to creating and playing games. I love that the kids give suggestions for new classes and one this year was a drawing class. I have art experience so that is the direction I will go in for my second class next year.
This year a mother commented that her son has wanted to be an architect, but didn't have the math confidence. After the hands on math class she said he was so excited and confident that he could do whatever math he needed to succeed in whatever direction he choice. How wonderful to hear! It gives me goosebumps just remembering our conversation and seeing her son all smiles. We all agreed he could be anything he wanted.
Thank you for this valuable program which connects children and teachers from across Houston in such a positive and productive program.
Sincerely,
Trish Smith Teacher Grade 3 Duchesne Academy Houston, Texas

DECATS at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School - 2009
Dear DECATS Directors:
Our family wanted to send a very sincere thank you for establishing DECATS! Your foundation provides the financial support and expertise to enable a truly remarkable educational experience take place each year.
The incredibly enriching experience our daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Monahan enjoyed this year at Saint Rose of Lima was second to none. What a wonderful opportunity for academically talented children to come together and gain knowledge, increased awareness of their own individual talents and improved communication and interaction skills. The classes offered are challenging and enriching. The mentors are engaged and genuinely interested in success of all scholars. The leadership team, particularly Mr. Barone, is inspiring in their enthusiasm to see the scholars reach their potential. We look forward to next year’s camp with great anticipation. Thank you again, The Monahan Family Craig, Jill, Beth and Sean

To the DeBusk Foundation:
My wife and I want you to know your financial support of the DECATS program makes a difference. Our daughter, Anna Maria, came through the camp more energized than ever about learning, and singing, and writing, and all of the things she did at DECATS. The staff was terrific; the environment was positive and productive; and my daughter professed the entire TV-free experience “fun.” So thank you, thank you, thank you for helping to provide such a setting where learning and developing talent could be entertaining and, thus, successful.

I would like to thank the DeBusk Foundation for making it possible for my scholar to take part in such an invaluable program. Through this foundation, she was given the opportunity to broaden and strengthen skills that in my opinion every young child should be exposed to in order to succeed as adults. I would greatly like to express Thanks to Mr. Manuel DeBusk for having such a great interest in children to support such a program.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the DeBusk Foundation for providing the funds that make the DECATS program at St. Rose of Lima in Houston, TX possible.
This is our daughter's 3rd year attending the DECATS program in the Houston area and she has truly enjoyed every year's experience. Our daughter is naturally shy and reserved, but with each year attending DECATS she has becomed more confident and self assured, yet still humble. The mentors at DECATS are wonderful and the courses are well designed to help the children develop intellectually, morally, and spiritually into the leaders they can be.
Thank you for all you do! Miguel Salazar and Giap "Kim" T. Nguyen
